I have a few more posts to make before I'm done with all the adventures that took place during my summer, but right now I want to blog about Thanksgiving Break. I am back at CBU after a wonderful, blessed time at home for a whole week for break. Jackson and I made puzzles together and played many, many games of Hide and Seek. He also found it attractive and fun to leap onto my back when I was laying on the ground.....I'm surprised my back is still intact and not broken or sprained.
I gave Nick his birthday presents while I was home. A stellar black and white checkered hat and some 'man scent', otherwise known as cologne.
There was much baking that proceeded Thanksgiving Day. The day before we all did baking all morning long and into some of the afternoon.
Samantha and Jackson were baking buddies.

Cranberry sauce, mmm mmm!
The crumb topping for the apple pie! Sooo good!
Joey peeled potatoes....he was not very happy about it, lol, but...he peeled them.
Pumpkin pie in the making
Nick made the apple pie.....but then I put the crumb topping on it because he...needed help. It was beauteous, I must say! Look at that awesome, beautiful, apple pie!
I decorated the tables and counters out for Autumn
On Saturday after thanksgiving, we went to Apple Hill to get our Christmas tree, a S. family tradition. We went to a different tree farm then usual, however, because it was cheaper. It turned out to be such a cute, nice place. It was the back yard/hill of some elderly couple's house. The guy who lived there had a little tractor thingy and used that to haul our tree up the hill after we picked one out. It us time to pick out the perfect tree though. Jackson got to ride up with the guy in the tractor, which he really liked.

After picking out our tree, we had Nick use his man skills and muscles to cut the tree down, hehe. Dad helped.

Jackson stood in line for Santa, in order to get a candy cane. He refused, however, to sit on Santa's lap and looked mighty uncomfortable having to converse with the man.
(Notice him sitting on the chair...and not Santa, lol).
After picking out our tree, buying some delicious apple cider, and getting ice cream, we got home and it was time to deck the halls! Or rather the tree. We decked the tree out, decorating it and making it beautiful! We had dinner, drank the cider, and ate the ice cream. It was a lovely evening. My last evening at home too, as dad and I got up at 3 in the morning, the next day, to leave at 3:30 for my flight back to CBU at 6:30. (I almost died, getting up that early!)
It was a wonderful break and a wonderful, blessed time with my family. I love them and miss them already. However, there are only 10 days left till I return home! :)
(I just gotta get through finals....).
