. . . and piled in. It was a very fun and relaxing afternoon, playing in the lake. Jackson especially liked his rides in the 'boat' or our blow up raft. We all had a lot of fun.
At around 5:00, we drove back to our trailer, and Dad barbecued tri-tip for dinner. And because I'm a descriptive person and a girl, I will describe the rest of our delicious dinner. (Why!!!???? I do not know!) We also had grapes, (YUM!) Potato Salad, (Praise God) and GARLIC BREAD!!!!!!!Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, after dinner we sat and enjoyed the beautiful night, until we went to bed. Now for the interesting part. At around 12:40, we were awaken from a deep sleep by a woman who was honking her horn and screaming. I, being the deep sleeper that I am, didn't hear the honking, but I did awake to hear her scream, "Help me, Please, somebody! My husbands not breathing right, and I can't wake him up." Daddy and Danny hurried outside, and and Danny got on the ham radio to call for help, since there is no cell phone service there. The woman left to go back to her husband after Dad said he would call for help. After the guys got help on the radio, Dan went over to the main road to talk the ambulance in, while Dad went over to the lady's tent, to check on the guy. There was another guy there already, who happened to be a EMT fireman, who was camping at Hope Valley too. The guy who needed help, was breathing/snoring irregularly, they couldn't wake him up, and his eyes were open and glazed over. When the fireman and Daddy asked the lady what he had taken, she finally admitted that he had taken two vicadin's and a methedone, which is used by people who are trying to get off of heroin, and stuff like that. Only this guy had taken it for recreation. Which means the guy pretty much overdosed. After around 40 minutes, the rescue people arrived and called in a helicopter to airlift the guy to the nearest hospital, which was in Reno.
Mom, Samantha, Nick and I were the only ones that woke up besides Dad and Dan, and we stayed inside the trailer, and prayed for the man and his wife. I was so terrified though, when I heard that woman screaming, and until Dad and Danny returned. I was so scared and upset that my teeth were chattering, and mom had to tell me to calm down. Good thing I'm not planning on being a rescue person!
Anyway, that was our exciting camping night. Poor Dad, he didn't get much rest!
The next day we went over to the creek for a while, after breakfast. Then after lunch we packed up and went home. Though I miss Hope Valley, I don't miss the trailer bed and am was very glad to sleep in my regular bed last night.
Well, we are going to go to the pool and cool off, sooooo. . .
Ta ta for now. TTFN.
