Easter Song...

A while ago, Walt asked my mom and I to write a song together, complete with music, Easter. So, here it is, the finished product; we finished touching it up today. Personally, I think it's great, but that's just me. :)

They spat upon Him
scorned Him and mocked His name
And then they hung Him
And this old world, it would never be the same

They were filled with hate,
laughingly they beat Him,
Humbly He met His fate
As the nails pierced His hands and the light in His eyes grew dim.

Chorus:
He is the Son of God, blameless and pure,
No wrong had He done, and yet they crucified Him,
They thought that they had destroyed Him,
But what they didn't realize, was three days later He would rise!

With love in His eyes
He forgave them all as he died
while darkness filled the skies
He drew his last breath and his loving mother cried.

He was laid a tomb,
it was over and done they said.
But three days later
the tomb was bare, He had risen from the dead!
