This past week

Well, this past week has been . . . interesting! I would like to say it was the best week of my life, because my awesome best friend, Joy, was here. But, so not so good things happened in the week that put a damper on it. It was still a very good week though! I loved my visit with Joy, and was glad to be able to have a lot of good long chats with her. I love her to death and am so glad she was able to come! It rained quite a bit during the week so we weren't able to go outside much, but we rented some movies and talked a lot. Saturday through Monday were spent talking, visiting, and watching Pride and Prejudice. On Tuesday night, we went to the Karate belt test, in which Danny and Nick participated, though I did not. My whole family and Joy came to take pictures and cheer them on. The boys both passed and are now blue belts. On Thursday Joy and I went to Franco's Pizza for lunch together, and got to spend some time alone with each other. Friday, her last whole day with us, was spent watching movies, talking and since it was sunny, playing outside. She and I went to the pool in the afternoon, but the water was so cold that we didn't swim. And since we forgot the sun lotion, we didn't stay any longer than an hour.

Today we had to take her to the airport, which was very sad. I am happy for the week we got to spend together though, and thank God and her parents, who sent her here as her graduation present, for that!
Now for what else happened this week that was not good! On Sunday night we got a call from my Aunt Jennifer, who said that my grandma had fallen, when at church. She had been trying to get to a little baby who had his fingers caught in a swinging door. She shattered her leg just below her hip, and broke both her collar bone and back. Needless to say, she is in a lot of pain. I pray that she will heal quickly and that God will ease her pain.
The other bad thing that happened, happened on Thursday. Danny and Nick were at Karate, Mom and Dad, and the kids were in bed, and Joy and I were watching 'Hot Lead And Cold Feet'.
Mom got up and told us that she was taking Dad to the Emergency Room, because he was really really dizzy, so dizzy that he could barely walk, his ears were plugged up, and he was throwing up. While they were getting shoes on(well, Mom was getting shoes on and poor Dad was throwing up in the bathroom) the boys arrived home. Danny helped dad to the car and Dad and Mom left. The doctor said that Dad had vertigo, and that it was probably caused from a virus. The kind of a jerk doctor also turned dad into the DMV, so that Dad had go to a doctor the next day so he could be cleared to drive. Thankfully, Dad is feeling fine now.

Jackson absolutely LOVED JOY and was so funny! He thought she was the best thing ever and followed her around constantly. He even climbed into bed with her! It was a week I will never forget and I loved it.

HOW CUTE!!!! Jackson has found the love of his life! Though it is sad he had to say goodbye to her today.

Even sadder about your grandmother! I knew she was having pain, but I didn't know it was this bad. Sooo sorry. I'll be praying!

I'm glad your dad is feeling better. I've had something like vertigo(though not as serious). It's not fun! Glad he's ok now.

See you tomorrow!

Jane

P.S. I have something to tell you!!! And you're gonna like it! You can either call me or just wait till tomorrow. Ta!

P.P.S I am soooo bored!!! My brother and I have been home alone all day! And Mom and Dad wont be back till late. Bye

I do not see the reason the doctor took it upon himself or herself to notify DMV. The only reason that comes to mind it that they were trying to protect themselves from lawyers. In the event that your dad did drive. Everyone is fearful of being sued for something it seems and so the paranoia.

My prayers for a full recovery for your grandma and your dad. TTFN

I am not sure why the doctor turned him in to the DMV either. I think he was just being a jerk, because I have heard of lots of people who have had vertigo, and their doctor didn't turn them in. My piano teacher has it, and she drives all the time. And my grandma had vertigo once, and she didn't get turned in to the DMV either. So, I think he just wanted to be a jerk. But oh well. The doctor cleared Dad,and he can drive now, so we're good.
